George Gel Pro Gellies

So today I was in Asda gathering ingredients for a mighty macaroni cheese and happened to walk down the beauty aisle!
On the George cosmetics stand stood this little gem of a nail polish!
It’s part of their Gel Pro range and it’s a Gellie polish! Now we’ve all seen the Gelly style polishes out there but this one truly reminds me of a jelly sweet!
It’s really deep in purple colour but it’s see through, like Ribena!
It amazingly smells like fruity sweets too!

This polish applies smoothly, with a decent sized brush to boot!
It also dries rapidly, has a very hi shine finish and best of all at the moment they are only £2! There are yellow, red and green also in the range!
Check them out in your local store!
I want them all! 🙂

When Payday Comes! #1

So with my big old birthday party coming up I haven’t had many spare pennies to buy frivolous and in my mind essential things I MUST have beauty wise!
Here is my list of treats that I will be treating mine own self to when payday comes a knocking!
It’s going to be a big birthday (30!!!) so I feel the need to make these posh purchases now I’m going to be a proper grown up and all that!

I absolutely have to have Essie is Bahama Mama! Not very summery but stunning none the less! Get it here!

I get face shine of the worst kind and have heard that this Max Factor Primer is the business for those kind of issues! Snatch it up here!

I got a mini version of the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish in my Birchbox!
What a little peach of a product it is! I need a bigger one!
On sale here!

Models Own in Coral Reef

In my Love Me Beauty box I received this Models Own nail polish in Coral Reef!
You can see what else was in the box here!
I love this Colour! It’s so summery and bright!
When it came to application I realised I completely detested the brush! The formula and colour are amazing but the brush made this a slightly less enjoyable experience!
However the finish was pleasing and was opaque and smooth with two coats! I then finished off as usual with a coat of Seche Vite!

Seventeen Gel Colour Review

Seventeen from Boots is another company to jump on the gel effect train by bringing out these Seventeen Gel Colour polishes!
They are £2.99 and come in a variety of shades but I picked up two, a green one called Emerald Tropics and a grey one called Long Island.
I tried the grey one first and found that it applies quite easily but you have to be quick and not go over it too many times!
One coat was patchy but two coats in and it’s completely opaque!
It took an absolute age to dry but when it did eventually dry it looked very shiny indeed.
I then added a coat of Seche Vite. As you can see in these pics there isn’t much difference in the shine.

I decided to use the green one to test out its 8 day wear claims!
This one glided on like a dream and was more fluid than the grey one, it was also opaque in one speedy coat!
The picture don’t really show the true depth of colour of this polish, think snooker table green and you’re very close!
So I applied one coat and went without topcoat to see how many days this polish stayed chip free.
I lasted three days before I removed it because it looked worn at the tips, but there were no huge issues with chipping! Quite impressive considering I hadn’t used a topcoat!
Check them out here!

OPI “Dating a Royal” Review!

OPI have currently got a sale on so I decided to add to my burgeoning collection with this lovely royal blue polish called “Dating a Royal”!
I absolutely love it! It goes with so many different looks and it’s still bright enough to wear in the summer.
I used my OPI Natural Nail Base Coat, then added two coats of “Dating a Royal”.
I finished off with a coat of Seche Vite Dry fast Top coat.
You can find “Dating a Royal” here.

Cath Kidston Inspired Nail Art

I was scouting the internets for new nail art ideas and I decided I would like to try a Cath Kidston style mani!
I found the absolute best tutorial from One Nail to Rule Them All. A really cool nail blog for you all to check out!

I started by applying Rimmel Nail Nurse then added a coat of my new Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Guava. Only one coat was needed!
All of the nail art details were done with Barry M Nail paint in White, Seventeen Gel Colour in Emerald Tropics, Collection Lasting Gel Colour in Think Pink and a lovely pale pink Essie polish in Muchi, Muchi.
I then finished it all off with a coat of Seche Vite!
I decided to do one accent nail and polka dot all the others!
I am MEGA pleased with the outcome!

Ps check out my new little treat from H&M! 🙂

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint & Superdrug Cuticle Oil!

I was perusing Superdrug when I noticed that Barry M was on buy one, get another item half price so I got this corrector pen and pale purple polish!
I have never in my life purchased anything from Barry M before and I loved the colour of this Gelly polish, so I thought I’d give it a go!
This particular shade is called Prickly Pear!
I was majorly impressed with the ease and speed of application! I may have just started a new nail polish addiction! 🙂
The pic is after two speedy coats!

I needed something to help soften my cuticles and on a whim I picked up this Superdrug own brand cuticle oil!
It comes in a squeezy tube with a fine brush at the end! There’s a hoof stick on the end of the lid.
It sinks in beautifully and is non greasy! It was only £2.99! Bargain!
I decided to see if there were anymore reviews about this product and found it praised to the rafters by Vogue itself! Check out the article here!
I’m so pleased with my new product!
