Cocktail Hour

I’ve always been a huge fan of a cocktail, or as Wallis Simpson called them “a KT”, but recently I’ve really been into making them at home.
So here are two of my favourites complete with recipe.

First up is the beautifully pink and slightly tacky cocktail, the Cosmopolitan.
These were majorly famous thanks to Sex & the City.
They are super easy to make and delicious.
So in a shaker pour 1 part vodka, 1 part Cointreau or similar, a squeeze of lime juice and copious amounts of ice. Shake for about 20 – 30 seconds until super cold and strain into a beautiful glass. In my case a vintage champagne saucer! 😍

Next up is the margarita! Summer in a glass and super tangy.
Pour into a shaker 1 part Cointreau, 2 parts tequila, 2 parts lime juice and lots of ice. Shake and strain into yet another lovely glass.
A salt rim is optional, personally I don’t bother as I don’t like the taste.
If you have a fancy glass blender then you can crush the ice and add the ingredients making a frozen one!

All these recipes are to be found anywhere and I haven’t used anyone in particular and have tweaked to my own tastes. You should experiment and find your perfect combo.

Bottoms up! 😎
