We made a day trip to Cannes which is just down the road from our villa here on the Côte d’Azur!
The yachts are beautiful and the beaches are amazing!
I had a gorgeous Provençal king prawn penne for my lunch accompanied by a Kir Peche to drink!
We spent a day in a lovely little medieval town called Cagnes-Sur-Mer which is in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur area in the south of France!
Beautiful place with an impressive castle which was unfortunately filled with an exhibition of the most vile modern art I’ve ever seen!
Check out the cute kitty I found!
On our way down to the South of France we stopped over night at the Chateau d’Ige!
It’s a beautiful hotel first built in 1235 in the south of Bergundy!
I felt like a Princess as my room was in a turret and I had the hugest bed ever with a glorious bath tub in the bathroom!
I stayed in the Comtesse room!
Dinner was an unexpectedly lavish affair!
We were served amuse bouche before my beautiful starter of fish tartare arrive complete with its caviar dressing! Beautiful!
I then had turmeric monkfish in a lobster sauce!
For the dessert course I chose Sable Framboise!
We were also served petit fours!
Next came the cheese course and I discovered a very awesome and very mouldy cheese from Corsica! Nom nom nom!
It was all finished off with a tiny coffee, Armagnac and molten chocolate truffles!
Oh baby! I could have stayed there for a week! 🙂
By the time you’re all reading this I shall be off to the South of France! 🙂
Today we had a visit from some lovely folk from Oxford University to our own fair Cambridge University!
We had lovely drinks in a sunny college courtyard before moving into the great hall for our lunch!
We dined on salmon, guinea fowl and creme brûlée! Divine!
We then headed off for a private tour of the roof of Kings College chapel before heading to another of Cambridge’s gorgeous colleges to play bowls!
We then retired to another hall for tea and sandwiches!
My gorgeous new skirt that I’m wearing in the photo was actually from Primark! At £12 it was a steal!
So here’s the latest offering from Birchbox!
As you may have seen from previous posts I decided to give up two of my thrice beauty box habit and I stayed with Birchbox!
Birchbox have yet to disappoint me, in this box there’s a lovely peachy lip crayon and a Benefit primer! For these products alone I’m a happy lady!
I think I might be behind the times but I haven’t got a clue what Chia seeds are but hey! I’ll try anything once! 🙂

So today I had time to kill and popped into Boots just to have a look!
Massive mistake because as usual I picked up a little somethin’ somethin’!
I purchased a dupe of the Benefit Push Up Liner that I wish I could afford!
At £8.99 this maybelline version is a complete steal!
I’m a complete eyeliner nube and have never really got the hang of putting it on and it takes me ages to get a decent line so I never really bother with it!
Here is my very first attempt! I was so amazed at the first application in one go that I put this terrible picture of my eye on here!
The rest of my face was sans makeup and really quite shocking so it’s a rather cropped pic! 🙂
It literally just glides on and the rubber tip hugs the lash line! Amazing!
A bloody git to get off though! Completely impervious to water but a good hot cloth cleansing saved the day!
Get yours here!
The St Tropez Gradual Tan for the face applies like a dream but is heavily fragranced! But it doesn’t smell like biscuits!
I’m not a fan of the fragrance but time will tell on how this pans out tan wise!
Get one from here! !
So can you guess from the pic of my cake what my theme was?
My cousin made this awesome cake for my Mad Hatter themed 30th birthday party!
I managed to wangle the use of some gorgeous private formal gardens for the event!
The weather didn’t let me down and the garden practically decorated itself with its flowers! I only added bunting and the odd plastic flamingo!
I had dainty sandwiches, cupcakes and a pic n mix sweet/candy buffet too!
To add to the theme we drank gin and tonics from beautiful paper teacups!
There was prosecco and birthday cake for all!
We all indulged in a few rounds of croquet too!
As people left I handed out some hand crafted party favours that I put together!
I Couldn’t have asked for a better welcome to my 30’s!
